Constitution Story in a Story - 250th!

Celebrate our 250th and teach the U.S. Constitution through storytelling + visual art with this engaging “Story in a Story” lesson! Students explore big constitutional ideas, then create a layered narrative that includes a story embedded inside another story—supported by collage pages, an abbreviated Constitution, Constitution Facts, illustrated lesson plan steps, altered book guidance, a watercolor tutorial, and a mini-look at the Declaration of Independence that highlights how challenging it is to fit the entire document onto one page.  This lesson is for all ages and is scaffolded. Use it for enrichment, and it works beautifully for classroom displays, civics units, writing workshops, or interdisciplinary projects. Adults will enjoy it too!
